A hardscrabble moisture farm on the scorching planet Tatooine, the Lars farm was run by the same family for at least two generations. Keeping the farm meagerly profitable depended on vaporators that drew moisture out of the dry Tatooine air, supplies from passing Jawa sandcrawlers, and hard work — the kind of work that could leave a farmboy like Luke Skywalker dreaming of being anywhere else.
